What I cover

Uncovering Gems exists as a small protest against algorithmic recommendation. Every track is selected by a person and published with the reason it was chosen — no playlists generated, no placements sold, no coverage traded.

The bias is toward artists early in their cycle: unsigned acts, first and second releases, regional scenes, and records that haven’t yet been written about elsewhere. If an artist is already on the cover of something, I’m usually late.

What I’m asking for

I’m actively seeking access for coverage. If you represent an artist, venue, label, or festival:

  • Photo and press passes — club and theater shows. Denver / Front Range priority, touring markets by arrangement.
  • Interview access — recorded conversations with touring and local artists, published as written features and short-form video.
  • Advance promos and embargoed material — I honor embargoes and confirm receipt in writing.
  • Festival and showcase credentials — day-of coverage across photo, written recap, and social.

Coverage is never guaranteed in exchange for access, and I don’t accept payment for placement. If I cover it, it’s because it was worth covering.
